GMA network variety shows Eat Bulaga and Wowowin climbed up in the leaderboards and became more relevant during the Christmas season.
Sharing and giving have been part of the Christmas spirit. During this season, these Kapuso shows give out cash or goods as prizes for lucky viewers on their different game segments.
As more viewers wish to be part of those lucky winners, the viewership of these shows improved recently.
Before, Wowowin, as hosted by Willie Revillame, usually lands on the 7th or 8th spot; while Eat Bulaga usually lands on the 10th spot of the rating chart released by AGB Nielsen.
Recently, their ratings improved and these shows climbed up in the rating chart.
On November 29, Eat Bulaga ranked 6th in the chart with a 5.2% rating while Wowowin ranked 7th with a 5.2% rating.
The following day, the said shows switched positions. Wowowin climbed up to 6th place with a 5.8% rating while Eat Bulaga dipped to 7th place with a 5.2% rating.
On December 1, Wowowin‘s rating decreased to 5.7% but, it rose to the 5th spot while Eat Bulaga continued to dip to the 9th-10th spot with a 5.0% rating, tied with Mr. Queen.
Overall, Wowowin remains the number one variety show nationwide.
This year, Eat Bulaga produced its own Christmas song titled, Parating Na Ang Pasko. That is the reason why the hosts of the said show did not take part in the GMA Network’s Christmas station ID.
