After working with him in the movie A Hard Day, multi-awarded actor John Arcilla was all praises for his co-actor Dingdong Dantes on Friday, December 10.
Arcilla worked with Dantes for the first time in this Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry, and he felt how respectable the Kapuso actor is as a talent.
“Dingdong is a very respectable actor. He respects his job, he respects his work as an actor, and you can feel that, no?” he said during the movie’s virtual media conference.
The Volpi Cup Best Actor further stated that he as an antagonist, cannot be “lazy” on set because of how reputable Dantes is.
“As a co-actor you cannot just be lazy and just throw yourself in the scene. You also have to be careful handling scenes with Dingdong. Because Dingdong is a so respectable, napaka-respectable na tao,” continued Arcilla.
Furthermore, Arcilla lauded Dantes for his responsible attitude and how he plays his role.
“And he’s just one of those stars na heartthrobs. He is an actor and he finds a way to scrutinize his character and how to do things. Very respectable and responsible.”
A Hard Day is about Villlon, a cop (Dantes), who runs over a man accidentally. He tried to hide the body in his mother’s coffin during her funeral to cover up his mistake. But like karma, his life becomes even more complicated when he argues with another cop (Arcilla).
The movie was supposed to be an entry for the canceled Summer Metro Manila Film Festival and instead became one of the nominees for this year’s MMFF.
A Hard Day is under the direction of Lawrence Fajardo and will be available in cinemas nationwide, December 25.
