GMA Network continues to dominate free TV, based on the Nielsen Philippines’ total day people audience share for November to December 11, 2021.
The Kapuso network earned a total of 41.5% audience share nationwide. It has a ‘huge’ lead against its sister network GTV, which only earned an 11.9% rating.
Kapuso network leaves a 29.6% lead—way bigger compared to the combined ratings of GTV, TV5, and A2Z.
GMA airs four of the five most-watched programs—24 Oras, I Left My Heart in Sorsogon, The World Between Us, and To Have and To Hold.
GTV is now the second most-watched free TV channel nationwide. The rebranding of GTV from GMA News TV, truly helped the network to improve its ratings.
G! Flicks and Dapat Alam Mo!--are GTV programs that are part of the Top 20 most-watched programs nationwide consistently.
In third place is TV5 with a 10.5% total audience share for the said time frame.
TV5 airs Kapamilya programs including Marry Me, Marry You, Viral Scandal, La Vida Lena, and the top-rated FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
The back-to-back tandem of TV5, Sing Galing and Niña Niño is a hit for viewers.
ABS-CBN partner channel, A2Z, ranked fourth with 4.1%, that’s a 6.4% gap from TV5. A2Z airs the same Kapamilya programs aired on TV5.
Considering the number of transmitters and sub-stations of the GMA Network, it can easily dominate the leaderboards. As ABS-CBN leaves free TV, it paved the way for the competition-free reign of GMA Network.
