On Thursday, December 16, the first tandem of Kapuso stars Glaiza de Castro and Xian Lim in the upcoming series False Positive were nothing but fun as the two reminisced what they thought of each other on their first encounter.
The two stars took turns in sharing their first impression of each other during the set of the show.
Lim started by expressing how amazed he was by de Castro’s acting ability.
“So parang nakakatuwa lang kasi yun nga eh, parang sa mga napapanuod ko sa kanya like before this, yung Nagbabagang Luha yung ginawa niya. Sobrang intense niya as a person and as an artist,” the actor said during the show’s virtual media conference.
Lim got blown away by the actress’s versatility going from heavy drama to romantic comedy, and he admitted he could not “keep a straight face” during their scenes.
“Napaka-intense niya and very passionate sa trabaho so for her to tackle a role na comedy and sweet, mga ganoon, na medyo pabebe. So parang sobrang ang hirap lang sometimes to keep a straight face while acting. Kasi yun nga eh, everyone was just having so much fun while shooting. Pero iba pa rin ang isang Glaiza de Castro.”
The actress, on the other hand, initially thought that Lim was a humorless actor. But after working with him, de Castro discovered how funny the actor is.
“Bukod sa napaka-matipunong lalaki niya, cute, charming, ano siya talaga, nakakatawa talaga siyang tao. Hindi ko in-expect yun sa kanya. Akala ko kasi sobrang seryoso niyang tao na alam mo ‘yon, parang walang humor sa life?” she shared.
Lim, who moved to GMA network earlier in August, said he was really honored to be working with Asia’s Acting Gem.
“Iba… kanina ko pa sinasabi. Even kay Glaiza lagi ko sinasabi, ‘Isang karangalan na makatrabaho ang Asia’s Acting Gem,” he confessed.
In terms of chemistry, the two were working for the first time as a pair–he revealed that both of them became so close that they can poke fun at each other.
“Ako feeling ko lang na parang I think yung the way she is and the way I am, na parang I think na umabot na kami sa point na naging [close]. Na umabot kami sa point na puro basagan lang. We wouldn’t get offended kung ano man yung usual na nakikita sa amin ng tao and binabasag na namin yung sa isa’t-isa.”
De Castro agreed as she joked that she is starting to get offended by Lim’s puns.
“Sinakyan niya pero parang mas tinodo niya pa eh. Kapag binabalik niya sa ‘kin ang mga basag ko sa kanya, mas mabigat eh. So yun, kaunti na lang medyo ma-offend na ako, hahaha!”
False Positive, which is a series slated in 2022, is under the direction of Irene Villamor and includes Nova Villa, Tonton Gutierrez, Rochelle Pangilinan, Dominic Roco, Buboy Villar, Herlene “Hipon” Budol, Luis Hontiveros, and Yvette Sanchez.
