Elha Nympha apologized to the people she offended after impersonating an Indian woman.
To recall, Elha had an Instagram live session with Kapamilya artists Francine Diaz and Jayda Avanzado.
One of their viewers introduced himself as an Indian national, to which Elha jokingly impersonated the Indian accent. Netizens then slammed Elha, saying that the singer was being a racist.
In a Tiktok post on December 6, Elha admitted her mistake of making fun of the Indian accent.
“I’m sincerely sorry po sa mga na-offend and sa mga naka-feel na it’s racist pero wala po talaga sa intensyon ko po na magin racist and also to mock ‘yung accent nila. Kaya ko po nasabi ‘yun sa live video kasi po related po ‘yung sinabi ko about doon sa Indian na ginaya ko nga po and sana po mapatawad niyo po ako lahat,” she said.

Elha then hoped that the people could move on from the issue and serve as a lesson for everyone to refrain from making fun of others.
“Let’s just move on and again I sincerely apologize po sa lahat ng Indians and Pakistanis na na-offend and naka-feel na racist po towards them. Also doon sa vidoe na ginawa ko, dinilete ko na po kasi marami na nga pong nangyayari.
“Sorry everyone. Let this be a lesson po. Huwag na lang po sana tayong gumaya nang gumaya ng meme kasi baka makasama. Huwag na lang natin gayahin at ‘wag na lang natin gawin. Peace out and stay safe,” she said.
Elha Nympha came to prominence in 2015 when she won the second season of The Voice Kids. She then won a contract with MCA Music Inc. and released her album “Elha” in 2016.
She then became a regular performer in ASAP, joining the group of New Gen DIVAS together with Janine Berdin, Sheena Belarmino, and Zephanie Dimaranan.
