DonBelle’s Donny Pangilinan on Thursday, December 2, addressed the bashers of his on-screen partner Belle Mariano, who called the latter “ugly.”
In the virtual media conference for their upcoming movie, Love is Color Blind, Pangilinan said that people should not doubt Mariano’s beauty and instead focus on the good things.
“First of all, yung mga bashers hindi naman namin mas’yadong pinapansin kasi may pinagdadaanan din sila. Pero ako, maga-address ako: sobrang ganda ni Belle. Hindi na kailangang pagdudahan pa,” he said. “Honestly just focus on the good things.”
Pangilinan then proceeded to commend Mariano’s hopefulness, as he described the actress as white and red.
“White, it means hope, eh. And I feel like Belle never stops looking for hope, and she never loses that hope. She always focuses on growth and what can be done better. Even if she’s so talented she always strive for more.”
On November 9, Mariano, who was doing a live stream performance, was criticized by detractors for her appearance.
One of her bashers even said, “Hindi ka maganda.” Another ridiculed her nose by saying, “Ang laki nang ilong.”
The young actress responded to her critics by thanking them for watching her live stream.
“Sa lahat po ng nagsasabi ng negative comments, thank you still for watching my live.”
Love is Color Blind includes John “Sweet” Lapus, Jeremiah Lisbo, Angelina Cruz, Ariel Rivera, Eula Valdez, and TikTok sensation Esnyr Ranollo.
