Stars of the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry Love at First Stream Kaori Oinuma and Jeremiah Lisbo, on Tuesday, December 14, believed Direk Cathy Garcia-Molina had played a part in improving their chemistry as a loveteam.
“Dito sa pag-build up ng chemistry, siguro nakatulong din si Direk sa amin, yung magic ni Direk. May magic si direk eh. Nakatulong sa amin sa pag-build up ng chemistry namin,” admitted Oinuma during the film’s virtual media conference.
Oinuma, the former Pinoy Big Brother: Otso housemate, then expressed how glad she was to work again with Lisbo.
“Grateful ako na si Miah, I mean, parang nakatrabaho ko siya ulit dito. Kasi dati nagkaroon na kami ng pair-up pero di pa nai-ere,” she added, referring to the unreleased show Love on Da Move where they first worked together.
Both Oinuma and Lisbo were talents of RISE Artists and being under the same management, Oinuma noted that filming Love at First Stream really improved their relationship on-cam.
“Si Miah kasi, ayun, matagal na kaming magkakilala, magka-RISE din kami. So meron nang nabuong friendship din sa amin. So siguro noong nasa set kami, siguro mas nag-build up lang lalo,” she pointed.
Lisbo, her partner in the movie, also revealed that sometimes, Direk Cathy would give them directions on how to improve their rapport as an on-screen tandem.
“Minsan po,” he answered.
The young actor, who is now being dubbed as the “Next Leading Man,” also reiterated his wish to work with Oinuma for the second time.
“Matagal ko nang inaamin to eh. Gustung-gusto kong makatrabaho si Kaori and nakapagtrabaho na kami before. So itong Love at First Stream, sobrang swerte ko lang na maktrabaho ko siya kasi sobrang open niya eh. Pinapakita niya sa akin na vulnerable siya and nagbibigay siya sa mga eksena.”
Love at First Stream is produced by Star Cinema and Kumu and is under the direction of blockbuster filmmaker Cathy Garcia-Molina. The movie will be released in cinemas nationwide, December 25.
