In a virtual press conference on December 13, Kapuso star Benjamin Alves expressed his honest thoughts and opinions about the network transfer of several artists to GMA Network.
Alves said that he doesn’t see anything wrong with artists who have transferred to another network.
In the interview, Alves stated that he was happy for the artists who had found a new home. The Artikulo 247 star expressed his excitement to work with these artists in the future.
“It’s great! There’s always room on the table, and there’s always room here. Them coming here makes us better actors; them coming here gives us new people to work with.
“Ganoon po dapat, collaborative, hindi pwedeng i-monopolize ang industriya or being a Kapuso, hindi pwedeng ganoon. I’m excited, everytime someone comes here I’m always excited to be able to work with them,” said Alves.
The actor believes it should not be thought of negatively if an artist decides to switch stations.
“Kagaya ngayon, just recently si Bea (Alonzo) and John Lloyd (Cruz) diba? I mean how can you not be excited to be able to work with them? To think any negative thing about that is crab mentality. Hindi ‘yun nakakatulong or makakatulong sa growth mo bilang aktor,” he stressed.
Benjamin Alves stated that he would not refuse if given the opportunity to join the two former Kapamilya stars in a project.
“In whatever capacity, in any capacity. I don’t think I’ve ever said no to a job in GMA or a project. I think I’ve never said no so papaano pa kaya kung sinabing si John Lloyd and Bea? Dun kapa hihindi? Dun kapa mag-iiba ng course ng trabaho? Parang ang labo naman non hahaha,” said Alves.
