On November 9, Megastar Sharon Cuneta compared “The King” Fernando Poe Jr. with FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano lead and director, Coco Martin.
During the media conference, Sharon said that Coco and FPJ are “totally different.”
“Syempre FPJ is a totally different star. And Coco is totally different. Although binuhay niya si Cardo dito, Coco gave it his own his own touch, gave the character his own touch, gave Cardo his own touch. May dating na Coco-touch. Iba naman kay FPJ.”
She then recalled her memorable experiences with FPJ when she worked with the late action star.
“In FPJ, I had a father, a friend, a brother, a protector, o pag-sinusumbungan, ang sarap sumbungan kasi alam mong si FPJ siya eh. Pag-may umapi sayo alam mong to the rescue siya. Para siyang knight in shining armor sa aming lahat.
“Hindi lang sa akin kung di sa boys pati sa girls. Para siya ‘yung pinaka-head ng family sa Showbiz. So I really miss that. So many memorable experiences with FPJ po, I can’t just pick just one. But this is our tribute to him, so I’m honored to be part of the show.”
As for Coco, Sharon observed that his staff and cast loves the actor-director because he treats them like family.
“You know seeing kanina, yung staff, ‘yung mga director. Staff niya, cast members, lahat, parang love na love siya. Kasi family–family sila. So that’s one thing na naappreciate ko kaagad.
“I think that is one of the keys to Coco’s success, and his dedication, complete, total, unrelenting dedication sa Ang Probinsyano. So, I admire him, and I thank him, grateful to him for keeping FPJ’s Legacy alive and making it brighter in his way.”
