Multinational electronic cigarette company RELX International’s concern has always been to lend support to fledgling, up-and-coming entrepreneurs all around the country. Today, the company goes a step further in their commitment toward investing in the community with the recent local launch of RELX Academy, which aims to support budding entrepreneurs with quality business skills training that will properly equip upstart business owners to launch and scale their ideas more sustainably.
Part of a global initiative under the RELX Pledge, a commitment to corporate accountability and the protection of economic livelihoods, RELX International selected the Philippines as the pilot area for launching the RELX Academy, owing in large part, to the strong presence of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Forming the bulk of registered businesses in the country, they aim to unlock the full potentials they bring in fostering economic prosperity.
The RELX Academy which offers specially curated entrepreneurship courses crafted by top universities such as the University of British Columbia and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), among others, is deliveredfully online in partnership with edX by leveraging technology to benefit as many people as possible.
Among the over a dozen courses available include Entrepreneurial Operations: Launching a Startup; Becoming an Entrepreneur; Business Foundations; Entrepreneurship 101: who is your customer — each one sure to be a boon for enrollees as they chart the future of their respective businesses.
Course participants can also look forward to special complimentary webinars with renowned speakers as part of the bonus program with the RELX Academy. The webinars seek to interact with participants more intimately by engaging in key entrepreneurship topics of the 21st century with a diverse group of business movers and shakers. The latest upcoming webinar will feature serial entrepreneur and mentor, RJ Ledesma on the 11th November 2021.
Alongside equipping entrepreneurs with the necessary skills and know-how in order to succeed in business, RELX will also further enable these future store owners by providing Academy graduates interested in operating a RELX store with additional support and guidance. Additional assistance will likewise be provided in the form of design and furniture support as well as opening promotion and training — inclusive of a limited-time franchise fee waiver.
With this, RELX International looks forward to growing a new class of Filipino entrepreneurs, thriving and adapting to the changes and challenges the business environment brings.
