In an interview with Lhar Santiago on 24 Oras on Tuesday, November 2, Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo confirmed that she is now preparing for her GMA Network series debut on the Book 2 of Agimat ng Agila.
In October this year, Mateo expressed her joy as she signed her contract with the GMA network. It signaled the start of her showbiz career.
Meanwhile, her first acting project occurred in the Gabi ng Lagim IX Halloween special of Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho.
The episode aired this Sunday where Rabiya played the role of a woman disturbed by a malignant in Marinduque, who is called “Bungisngis” or “Ngisngis.”
Award-winning director Adolf Alix Jr. directed the episode.
After the said guesting, the beauty-queen will appear in Agimat ng Agila and will join the lead cast members Sen. Bong Revilla Jr. and Sanya Lopez.
“Nagpapasalamat talaga ako kasi malaki ’yung tiwala na binigay sa akin ng team, ng GMA, para ibigay itong role sa akin.
“Nae-excite din po ako na makatrabaho ’yung mga beterano na sa field na ito kasi marami po talaga akong matututunan,” said Rabiya.
She will be playing a character who deals with action scenes. In preparation for this, she went to the gym daily to do boxing training.
