In an interview on November 19, Kapuso singer Princess Velasco shared the story behind her new song titled “Ang Ating Pag-ibig” under GMA Music.
Princess Velasco’s husband composed the song. She first heard it when her husband sang it with his friends at their wedding in 2013 as a surprise to her.
At that time, she remembered that the song wasn’t finished yet and had no title. It only had one verse and a chorus.
She has long wanted to record the said song, but her husband does not want to because he wants to keep the original version for both of them.
It took years before she finally decided to secretly add lyrics to the second verse of “Ang Ating Pag-ibig.”
She recalled, “Yung song kasi na “Ang Ating Pagibig,” sinulat ‘yan ng asawa ko, si Mark Herbert Rosario.
“Kinanta niya ‘yun nung wedding namin, noong 2013 pa, so matagal na.”
After a few finishing touches, Princess let her husband listen to the demo, and he liked it.
She is pleased to share their wedding song with everyone. She hopes that it would inspire many couples and people who are still looking for their other half.
“The song, it’s like a short story lang about sa pag-ibig namin pero hindi siya very specific to us kaya maganda rin siyang i-share sa ibang tao kasi puwede siyang maging theme song ng maraming couples na maging blessed na mahanap na talaga nila ‘yung forever nila.
“Kapag maswerte kayong nahanap niyo na ‘yung taong para sa inyo, kahit pa marami na kayong pinagdaanan at hindi kayo sobrang okay the whole relationship, umabot kayo sa point na you made that commitment to each other to be true to each other and as in gagawin n’yo ang lahat para maging pang-forever na talaga ‘yung “forever” n’yo,” said OPM Acoustic Princess.
“Ang Ating Pagibig” was released on November 19 and is available worldwide on Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music, and other digital platforms.
