Nash Aguas opened up and answered the speculations of him entering politics because of money. He said that all he wanted to do–to make a change in people’s lives.
On September 21, Aguas took his oath to the Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats party–as a member. He will run as a councilor under Cavite City Vice Mayor Denver Chua party. Chua is running as city mayor.
In an interview with Ogie Diaz on November 6, Aguas revealed that he always wanted to enter politics to improve people’s lives.
“Gusto ko lang ‘yung idea na maayos mo ‘yung problema ng isang siyudad. Like makakaapekto ka ng ibang tao. For me, it’s something na malaking bagay compared sa pag-aarte. May tatamaan kang buhay.
“Gusto kong ma-try kasi gusto kong makagawa ng something bigger than myself. Which is makaapekto ng buhay ng iba, makatulong sa iba. ‘Yung permanently mababago ‘yung buhay nila,” he said.
He said that the idea was introduced to him by Vice Mayor Chua way back in 2019, but he declined it because he knew his family would dismiss the idea.
Other than being an actor, Aguas is also an entrepreneur and a real estate investor. His ramen shop MURAMEN already has about 11 branches, and he also has a chicken restaurant, Grillest, located in Pasig City. He also invested in lots at Tagaytay and in the US.
Aguas revealed that Vice Mayor Chua contacted him again to run for the elections under him. Since he believes that he is already financially secured, the young star took the offer.
When asked about his thoughts on being a young politician, he said that age is not a hindrance in helping others.
“Kailangan kabisado mo ‘yung lugar mo and alam mo ‘yung problema nila. Para mai-take into account mo ‘yung mga bagay na ‘yon sa bawat desisyon sa konseho.
“Hindi dapat magin hadlang ‘yung age para makatulong ka sa ibang tao,” said Aguas.
“Hindi ko pinasok ang pulitika dahil lang na bored ako. At the back of my head nandun na siya ever since. Naging perfect timing lang,” he added.
Aguas would focus on his tourism and business advocacy and alleviate the lives of his Cavite constituents.
