On October 27, ABS-CBN sports reporter Migs Bustos answered the rumors pointed to him about replacing Kim Atienza on TV Patrol.
During the Life Talks media conference, the King of Talk Boy Abunda asked Bustos about rumors of him taking over Kuya Kim’s spot in the Kapamilya primetime news program.
He noted that he’s happy with whatever the Network and the news program would decide.
“To be honest, hindi ko talaga alam, how to go about it. So but–the real — I can’t really say much because a few days ago, they launched three personalities that are part of TV Patrol.
“I’m really happy for the company, for them po. Basta ako Tito Boy, ang stand ko, kung sino man ang piliin, kung sino man ang nandoon, I’ll be happy to support the program and the company.”
Bustos then recalled getting overwhelmed with the social media response he received from fans.
“I had nothing to do with it. I saw it in the internet, I saw it in the social media that Kuya Kim is transferring, to GMA, tapos okay, biglang nag-pour in ‘yung engagement ko sa twitter.
“I was really overwhelmed. Sabi ko, ‘Grabe naman.’ Kasi Tito Boy sa larangan natin, tayo ‘yung sanay na naghahabol sa trending eh. Kunyari in my beat, sa sports, iniinterview natin kung sino ‘yung mga nagte-trend. The ones that are making the news.”
Earlier, Bustos trended on social media after netizens expressed their interest in having the sports news reporter take over Kuya Kim’s spot on TV patrol.
Bustos joined Abunda, Ina Raymundo, and other experts in the Life Foods sponsored virtual conference, Life Talks, wherein they discussed how to stay healthy during the pandemic.
Bustos recalled the health struggles he faced as a journalist amid the pandemic and how he overcame them.
“I had my fair share of struggles. Especially at the height of the shutdown, my anxiety level was at an all time high. ‘Yung stress ko nagma-manifest siya, nagha-heart burn ako. ‘Yung vertigo ko lumalabas, nakailangang pa-check up ako sa doctor.
“Being healthy, kasi papaano ko ma-achieve ‘yung mga gusto kong gawin in the future, especially in this world of news and broadcast. Kasi pagdating sa larangan ng journalism or in broadcast, or in news, you don’t get that in an instant. Kumbaga hindi siya instant eh. Hindi ka sisikat ng isahan lang. It’s the hard work that you put in. It may even take years of that.”
