Via Instagram, on November 18, Kim Chiu shared a humorous appreciation post for the mandatory face shields.
She thanked the face shield for the protection it gave during the two years of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Salamat sa lahat ng pinagsamahan natin, almost two years din tayong mag-ON, masaya ako na dumating ka sa buhay ko kahit minsan naiinis nako sa ‘yo pero wala akong narinig na reklamo mula sa ‘yo.
“Salamat sa pag-protekta sa ‘kin sa mga bagay na kinakatakutan ko. Ikaw pa nga ang unang humaharap.”
She comically said she was grateful for the item, for defending her from the things she is afraid of and facing her problems.
“Masaya ako na nakilala kita face to face. Mami-miss kita, pero I think it’s about time to let go!!!! Ingat ka ha? Wag ka na balik. Move on na tayo! #SalamatFaceShield ”

Chiu added that she will miss using the face shield, but she knew it is already time to part ways. She even wished for it not to return anymore.
Plastic face shields should have been removed at an earlier time, for it does not provide adequate protection against COVID-19, but the Department of Health pushes that it provides an added layer of protection against the virus.
On the announcement of Malacañang on Monday, November 15, people living under the areas of Alert Level 3 and below, including Metro Manila, are no longer required to use face shields.
According to President Rodrigo Duterte, it is no longer mandatory to use face shields, hence; it is now voluntary for areas under Alert Level 3, Alert Level 2, and Alert Level 1 to implement the usage of such.
