Kapuso trivia man Kim Atienza on Monday, November 22, has one thing he cannot do: campaign for his father, Lito Atienza, who is running for Vice President.
His revelation came on Sunday, November 21, after he responded to Ogie Diaz’s suggestion that he should help in his dad’s political run.
The 54-year-old Kapuso talent clarified that as much as he wanted to show his support to his father, he was prohibited to do so.
Moreso, Atienza insisted that being part of GMA News forbids him to be involved in politics.
He wrote: “Kamusta ka na? Congrats sa YouTube mo, very successful! Ogs, kahit gusto kong tulungan ang dad ko, at kahit sinong kandidatong gusto ko, binabawal ng @gmanews ang any political activity such as campaigning lalo na sa kamag-anak. Be well dear @ogiediaz.”

Kuya Kim also pointed that even as a Kapamilya, he was not allowed to campaign for their chosen candidates.
Also ABS naman, ABS news code of ethics prohibits reporters and anchors from campaigning for their respective candidates. https://t.co/QzaM0C8KI7

Meanwhile, Diaz replied to Atienza, explaining that he was just voicing out a netizen’s opinion.
“Sabi ‘yan ng isang netizen, Kuya Kim. I just verbalized it. I now sa news talaga, bawal ang kampanya. Ingat ka din.”

Atienza transferred to GMA network in October after being with ABS-CBN for 17 years. As a Kapuso, he is part of its news and current affairs program, 24 Oras, and is one of the newest hosts of Mars Pa More.
Atienza also has his own show on GTV called Dapat Alam Mo! together with Patricia Tumulak and Emil Sumangil.
