On November 22, Viva artist Jela Cuenca admitted not telling her family in her steamy role in the Viva movie, Palitan.

During the media conference for the Vivamax movie, Cuenca said she knows her family supports her despite not telling them about her role.

“Sa akin naman po, they don’t really know about it. Yeah, I didn’t tell them.

“Alam ko naman na kahit anong gagawin ko, they will support me pa din, whatever, I’m going to do. Syempre nahihiya ako na sabihin sa kanila ‘yun, pero alam ko malalaman din nila ‘to at the end of the day. And alam kong kaya nilang tanggapin ‘yun.”

Cuenca signed with Viva in 2021, wherein she starred in the movie ‘Taya: Jackpot Ka Boy’ with Sean De Guzman and AJ Raval.

She then recalled her journey into showbiz, starting with her modeling days.

“Bago ako pumasok sa showbiz, mahilig talaga ako sa modelling, So, model ako before and then fashion show. And then ‘yung mga ginagawa ko, and then, may business then ako. But then, natigil ko siya because of the pandemic. So doon ako parang naisip ko na, why not to try something new. Nakilala ko ‘yung manager ko ngayon and siya ‘yung nag-enganyo sa akin na oy sumali ka sa ganito.”

She then noted that she plans to use her sexy image as a stepping stone to forge her career path in showbiz.

“Hindi ko din naman inasahan din, parang sa akin, I grabbed the opportunity na lang din. And, I’m making this my stepping stone. Kasi alam ko naman na hindi lang sa pagpapa-sexy ang kaya kong ibigay talaga, and alam kong marami pa akong kayang ibigay na gagawin, incoming projects.”

Cuenca revealed that her dream roles in acting are comedy and action projects.

“Pangarap ko talaga is comedy, kasi comedy talaga ako char. Mahilig akong magpatawa ng tao and at the same time gusto ko rin ng action.”

Cuenca stars alongside new Viva artists Cara Gonzales, Rash Flores, and Luis Hontiveros in ‘Palitan.’ The movie directed by Brillante Mendoza, streams on Vivamax on December 10, 2021.
