“Grabe ah, parang update ‘to ah,” Joshua Garcia said when asked how is it going with him and celebrity vlogger Ivana Alawi on Thursday, November 11.
During the media conference for his upcoming series, Viral Scandal with Charlie Dizon, he revealed that he and Alawi get to talk whenever they have Instagram stories that piqued their interests.
“Well ‘di pa kami nakakapag-usap ulit eh. Usually kasi ang usap namin sa DM parang ano eh, like for example nabisita niya story ko, tapos nabisita ko story niya, tapos biglang nakaagaw ng atensyon ko, nakaagaw ng atensyon niya, mga ganoon. So mga small talks lang din,” he shared.
The two became a trending topic when Alawi, who confessed to having a crush on Garcia, after she received a special greeting from the actor himself during her birthday celebration. It caused the former to fluster.
On October 13, Alawi revealed in an interview with Ogie Diaz that she is willing to be friends with the actor whilst not denying the possibility of getting courted by Garcia.
“Cute ‘yung mukha at tsaka mabait siya. Nakikita ko parang family-oriented. Pero ‘di ko masabi kasi ‘di ko pa siya nakikita in person.
“Depende. Gusto ko kasi makilala muna siya bago ko kurutin ang sarili ko,” said Alawi.
In the meantime, the actor, in a Viral Scandal interview last October admitted he is willing to be friends with the social media influencer.
“Siyempre thank you kasi na-appreciate ‘yung work kong ginagawa, ‘yung pag-arte. Base sa narinig ko, na-appreciate niya ‘yung acting, so thankful. Very thankful ako as an actor. Maraming salamat.
“I’m open maging kaibigan, okay lang sa’kin.”
Viral Scandal is directed by Dado C. Lumibao and Froy Allan Leonardo and tells the story of how a simple family becomes distraught when a scandalous video involving their eldest daughter Rica (Dizon) goes viral.
The show will premiere on Monday, November 15 as part of ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida lineup.
