Real-life celebrity and Kapuso couple Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos shared their thoughts about couples sharing passwords on November 23, during the media conference for Stories from the Heart: Love On-Air.
Ramos said he doesn’t believe that sharing passwords in a relationship is a form of trust. He added that it’s better to build a foundation in a romantic relationship.
“Ako, while I respect, whoever, if may mga relationships na ganon. And, if they see that as a form of trust, ako I don’t believe in it because it would do more damage than good. If you really trust your partner, you wouldn’t need that–ganon katindi na verification or ‘yun ‘yung security blanket mo na kailangan makita mo ‘yung bawat galaw.
“In my opinion, it’s better to go to the bare bones of the relationship and work from there talaga ‘yung foundation, communication n’yong dalawa ang work towards not even thinking twice about it.”
He also added that sharing passwords leads to toxicity in a relationship.
Kasi for me lang, ‘yung road kasi na ‘yun. ‘Yung account ng partner mo ay nasa sa ‘yo, ano na siya, parang praning, parang everyday ka praning. It could lead to toxicity.
As for Garcia, she said that trusting partners would respect each other’s personal space.
“I respect couples who treat it as a trust test. But for me, for our relationship, it’s a no-no. If you really trust your partner, you would respect their personal space. It’s really a no for me.”
She then clarified that there are exceptions to the rule as she experienced asking Ramos to post content on her social media on her behalf.
“But then, if it requires, or the situation requires–kasi kami, ganon din kami ni Khali eh, sometimes, I’m out of town, and I need to upload something, and I have no signal, I’ll ask Khali to upload it.
“Ganon ‘yung trust namin, ‘edi upload mo.’ And then, we would just eventually forget each other’s passwords.”
Ramos then said he feels happy with his ever-evolving relationship with Garcia.
“Five years na kami ni Gab. Ako sobra-sobrang happy kasi ever evolving ‘yung relationship namin. There’s nowhere, or no one else I could imagine myself with than Gab. Kasi, as in we fit like a glove and we compliment each other so well, and she’s my favorite person.”
As for Garcia, she noted feeling ‘secured’ with her relationship with Ramos.
“‘Yung puso ko ngayon is very secured, very safe, and very much sincerely happy. Talagang, I couldn’t ask for more.”
Both have been together for four years and will celebrate their fifth anniversary in February 2022.
As for their upcoming series, Stories from the Heart: Love On-Air that will premiere on November 29 on GMA Afternoon Prime. The series also stars Kiray Celis, Sunshine Cruz, Jason Francisco, Kate Valdez, Anjo Damiles, and Psalms David.
