On November 3, Kapamilya actor Enchong Dee said he feels lucky being a Kapamilya.
During the media conference for Maalaala Mo Kaya’s opening salvo for November, Dee highlighted that the Kapamilya staff and actors treat each other like family when filming.
“Ang swerte ko sa ABS-CBN, kasi ang tawagan Kapamilya. Kasi kapag Kapamilya, nandyan talaga kayo para sa isa’t isa. At ‘yun ‘yung hinahanap ko everytime I’m in the set. Kailangan kong tratuhin ko ‘yung co-actors ko the same way I treat the wardrobe, the make-up artist, the staff, the utility people. It’s the same, because again it all boils down to being a family.”
Now, as he celebrates his 15th anniversary as a Kapamilya and 33rd birthday in November, Dee offers up his opening salvo for Maalaala Mo Kaya’s 30th year with Ink of Smile. His MMK episode airs on November 6, 2021. Viewers can catch his episode via Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, Kapamilya Online Live YouTube channel, ABS-CBN Entertainment Facebook page, and iWantTFC.
He also shared feeling stressed, pressured, and fulfilled while filming his latest Kapamilya project with MMK.
“Siguro three stages: stressful, pressured, but by the end of it fulfilled. Kasi, noong nagsimula pa lang, first take pa lang namin ni Direk Jerome, sabi ko sa kanya, ‘Direk Jerome, gabayan mo ako, tulungan mo ako dito, kasi ‘yung responsibilidad na nakalagay sa shoulders natin ay napakalaki at napakabigat. I just want to make you proud, I just want to make my company proud, I just want to make my management proud. I want to make myself proud also.”
He said he felt proud of having an MMK episode as his last acting piece for 2021.
“I think MMK is one of those projects na pwede mong i-harap mo sa mga tao, kasi ano talaga ‘to, pinaghahandaan. Kaya sabi ko, I want to make this a really good episode, especially patapos na rin ‘yung taon. I want to end my year with an acting piece.”
However, Dee expressed wanting to have a break from showbiz right after his MMK episode.
“For the meantime, gusto ko po muna sana magpahinga. Kasi natataranta ‘yung utak ko sa mga locked-in taping. Ngayon pa lang ako nasasanay.”
Dee began his career in 2006 when he appeared in the Kapamilya series, Let’s Go. He then gained popularity with his roles in Katorse and Paano ko Sasabihin. After these roles, Dee worked on iconic projects such as Ina, Kapatid, Anak, Mano Po: Chinoy, Huwag Kang Mangamba, and ‘Four Sisters and a Wedding.’
