Real-life celebrity couple Diego Loyzaga and Barbie Imperial shared on Tuesday, November 16, why they decided to become more affectionate with each other in public.
In the virtual media conference for their upcoming film Dulo, the two took turns in explaining their reasons.
Loyzaga recalled that they had a conversation about being more public even before they officially became together, saying they should be true to themselves and not mind what others would think.
“I remember na may usapan kami na bago palang tayo—basta may usapan kaming dalawa na noong nanliligaw palang ako sa kaniya nung time na ‘yon.
“Tapos siguro nagka-agreehan kaming dalawa na we’re both at the part of our lives na if ever nga na may dine-date kami, gusto namin yung walang restrictions, yung p’wede kaming maging public.
“Without any takot na ‘What if ‘di tayo mag-workout?’ Tapos baka ma-bash tayo, tapos madaming magko-comment. Parang it should have no boundaries. Kung magmamahalan tayong dalawa, whether it works or not, pero doon tayo sa magwo-workout ‘di ba?”
He also stressed that he preferred to be honest rather than hide his true feelings for Imperial.
“Let’s be true! Kaya mahirap maging totoo na parang ang dami mong tinatago parati, bawal lumabas dito, baka makikita tayo ng mga tao. So we both accepted na maging real, maging totoo lang,” he added.
Imperial, on the other hand, admitted she was not into publicizing her love life. However, because it was Loyzaga, who got her, she became comfortable showing how much she loves him.
“Pero si Diego naman po kasi na boyfriend, parang sobrang naiintindihan niya lahat, as in lahat naiintindihan niya. Tsaka parang ako din, mas gusto ko na pinapakita sa mga tao kung sino ang taong mahal ko, or paano ako magmahal. Parang mas masarap din yung parang hindi ka tinatago,” she reasoned.
The couple also revealed one of the many reasons why they fell in love with each other.
Loyzaga revealed that he loved her the moment she showed him her motherly side.
“Sinabi ko sa sarili ko na if ever I date a girl, gusto ko na I can see her as a mother of my children. So kailangan may ganoon siyang factor.
“And nakita ko kay Bie ‘yon eh, really early palang sa relationship, nanliligaw pa lang ako sa kanya. How organized she is as a person lalo na when it comes to work.
“Sobrang maternal, sobrang caring niya, like a mom. [Yun] ang isa sa mga nagustuhan ko sa kanya.”
Meanwhile, Imperial admitted she loved the actor’s honesty and how accepting he is as a person.
“Ang nagustuhan ko kay Diego is sobrang totoo niya po as in. Kasi mas nakilala ko siya. Parang wala siyang pakialam sa kung ano ang past mo, ganiyan, or kung anong maling decisions na nagawa ko noon, ganito ganyan.
“Parang siya yung tao na parang hindi ka takot na sabihin sa kanya yung mga mabigat, mga nakakahiyang sabihin, kasi parang tatanggapin ka n’ya and hindi ka niya ija-judge talaga based sa past mo.”
Dulo is under the direction of Fifth Solomon and the first pairing of Loyzaga and Imperial.
