Enchong Dee revealed that he was offered to switch networks, but he chose to remain a Kapamilya.
The actor has been with the network for over 15 years now.
In an online press conference for the 30th anniversary of Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) on November 3, he revealed that his loyalty to his Network has something to do with his relationships.
“I think having to say that five years na ako, ten years na ako, 15 years and so on, it’s a medal. It’s something you can show to your peers and your family na ‘Look, I’m still needed. I can still offer something because I’m still here.’ I’m very humbled actually.
“Not privileged but humbled to be working, na kapag nagdadasal kami sa set bago magsimula, isa dun sa mga dasal namin ‘Lord salamat dahil nakakapagtrabaho kami sa gitna ng pandemya, sa panahon na maraming naghihikahos’ kaya I’m very humbled.”
When asked about receiving offers from other networks, Dee revealed that there have been offers, but he chose to stay as a loyal Kapamilya.
“Meron (offer), even prior to the pandemic, prior to the shutdown. Pero kasi ang lagi kong sinasabi, nasa punto na ako ng buhay ko na kung ano yung na-establish kong relationship, mas importante kasi sa akin yun eh, yung pera kikitain mo yan. Kilala niyo naman ako kung paano sa pera. Pero hindi kasi yun yung main goal ko sa trabahong ito,” he said.
He explained that he doesn’t want to give up on the relationships that he established with the people in the ABS-CBN network.
“Ayoko ng magsimula ng bagong relationship because I feel like I was able to establish a good relationship with people that I’ve worked with for the past 15 years. And ang hirap ulit magsimula, that’s number one. Number two, ang plan B ko kasi is to be a business tycoon.
“‘Yun yung isa sa mga pangarap ko hindi ang mag-switch ng network. And number three, again this is just my opinion, pero kailangan kasi ako ng Kapamilya. Unti-unti nababawasan, paminsan-minsan may nababalitaan tayong nag-de-decide and I respect their decision. I know they have every valid reasons why they are doing that pero ako, yun lang yung sa akin,” said Dee.
Enchong Dee recently celebrated his 15th anniversary in the showbiz industry. In the same interview, the actor recalled the advice he received about longevity in showbiz from seasoned actors he worked with for the past 15 years.
