Kapamilya stars Daniel Padilla and Angel Locsin shared their opinion on Friday, November 19, following the sex trafficking case filed by the U.S. against Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
The two commented on the Instagram post of ABS-CBN News sharing Quiboloy’s international charge.
Padilla wrote, “Isa-isa [nang] tinatawag ni Satanas.”
Locsin, on the other hand, expressed her concern to the rape victims.
“Minor = Rape. Sana maprotektahan agad ‘yung mga naglakas loob na magsalita.”
Quiboloy, the leader and founder of the Davao-based church Kingdom of Jesus Christ, The Name Above Every Name, was charged by American prosecutors earlier on Thursday, November 18.
Reports said that Quiboloy was accused of coercion with girls and young women ages 12 to 25 years olds to have sex with him. It occurs during a so-called “night duty.”
If the girls refuse, Quiboloy threatens them with “eternal damnation.”
Aside from their “night duty” these young women, called pastorals, were also required to prepare Quiboloy’s meals and offer him massages.
The Pastor, a close friend of President Rodrigo Duterte, also did not receive any support from the government as acting presidential spokesperson Karlo Nograles pointed that he is a “private entity” that can legally defend himself.
“Pastor Quiboloy is a private individual capable of getting proper legal advice.”
Nograles, however, was unsure if Quiboloy would remain as Duterte’s spiritual adviser following his indictment.
“When it comes to personal relationships of the President, hayaan po nating ang Pangulo ang magsalita tungkol diyan,” he said.
Apart from Quiboloy, other church officials were similarly indicted, including two US-based church administrators.
Those handling the case [also] slapped other nine defendants for their participation in a scheme wherein church members were brought to the U.S. using fraudulently obtained visas and forced to solicit donations to a bogus children’s charity.
Donations acquired were believed to fund the church leader’s “lavish lifestyles.”
