Baron Geisler asked for forgiveness from the gays that he physically hurt back when he was still an alcoholic and a drug addict.
He asked for forgiveness during his virtual media conference for Barumbadings on October 27.
Back in the early 2000s, Geisler was battling severe depression, drug use, and alcoholism.
At that time, the actor was involved in several controversies like lasciviousness allegations, resto-bar arrest, and brother-in-law altercation and arrest among others.
After finishing his treatment and rehabilitation, Geisler is now slowly coming back to the showbiz world.
In the said press conference for his upcoming film Barumbadings, the actor took the opportunity to apologize to all the gay people that he did hurt.
“This is the best time to make amends to those I’ve hurt during the time that I was a very bad boy, barumbado. Na may madaanan lang akong bading, nasasampal ko sa mukha. Wala pa naman lagpas lima, siguro nasa tatlo. Kung sinuman kayo, sana po mapatawad niyo na ako. Thank you, nabigyan ako ng pagkakataong makapag-apologize sa kanila,” said Geisler.
The 39-year-old actor then advised people to be kind to others. He added that people must know their mistakes and change for the better.
“It’s not good to hurt anyone, psychologically, physically. It’s really bad. Be kind to everyone and respect begets respect and respect boundaries as well. Nung time na yun kasi, kasagsagan ko ng alak and drugs,” he said.
“Noong nasa loob ako ng rehab, isa ‘yan sa mga nag-hit sa kaluluwa ko, sa puso ko, sa utak ko. Nakita ko yung past mistakes ko, and I said, sobrang maling-maling talaga yung ginawa ko. Hindi ‘yon dapat, hindi ‘yon tama. Sorry from the bottom of my heart,” he added.
Barumbadings will be streaming on November 5 via Vivamax. Aside from Geisler, the film also features Joel Torre, Jeric Raval, and Mark Anthony Fernandez.
