On October 15, Yasmien Kurdi revealed how she balanced her subtle K-Drama acting and Campy acting in her scenes for GMA Network’s upcoming teleserye Las Hermanas.
During the media conference for the Las Hermanas, Kurdi said she had the help of the series director Monti Parungao in balancing her portrayal of her role.
Parang K-Drama ‘yung dating. Like for me and Gabriel, ganon ‘yung love story namin. Medyo K-Drama ‘yung feel.
“Pero for like other scenes kailangan namin maging campy.
“And then, depende naman eh. Depende rin sa eksena ‘yung acting–binabalanse.”
Kurdi also explained that she had no personal experiences to pull inspiration from in her portrayal. To remedy it, she observed how her husband interacts with his siblings.
“In real life, only child po ako.
At the end of the day, kapatid niya, nagfo-forgive naman sila. And at the end of the day, ‘family is still family.”
As for their upcoming series, Kurdi stars alongside Thea Tolentino, Faith da Silva, and Albert Martinez in the newest drama offering from GMA Network, Las Hermanas. Joining the stellar cast are Jason Abalos, Rita Avila, Leandro Baldemor, Jennica Garcia, Lucho Ayala, Madeline Nicolas, Rubi Rubi, Melissa Mendez, Robert Ortega, Orlando Sol, and Coleen Paz.
The series directed by Direk Monti Parungao premieres on October 25, on GMA Network, after 24 Oras.
