October 7, Kapuso host Willie Revillame announced that he is not running Senator in the 2022 elections during an episode of Tutok to Win sa Wowowin.
Revillame shared his realizations throughout a 20-minute segment explaining why he didn’t run for Senator despite receiving an offer from President Rodrigo Duterte.
He explained that he doesn’t see himself running because he has no background in policymaking and governance to fulfill the role of a Senator.
He also pointed out the current political climate as one of the reasons why he won’t be running for office.
He also urged officials to become public servants instead of becoming politicians.
Sana lahat ng politiko, hindi politiko, you should be a public servant.”
During his Tutok to Win sa Wowowin segment, Revillame shared that President Duterte summoned him to the Malacañang Palace on March 16, 2021, to express the President’s interest in having the Wowowin host as a Senator.
