“Ang Covid nga parang Christmas party. ‘Pag nabunot ka, ‘congratulations! Nabunot ka!'”
This is what Sing Galing! judge Allan K said in an exclusive interview with RAWR Nation, October 5.
He got infected by Covid-19 in 2020. Although it was deadly, Allan K admitted he did not panic after knowing he tested positive.
“Nung nalaman ko na nagka-Covid ako, hindi ako nag-panic eh. Ako pa nga ang nagsabi na ‘halika, do’n tayo sa hospital.’ To think na ang sama-sama na ng kondisyon ko nun,” he shared.
When his condition worsened, it never even occurred to him that he may not be able to get out of the hospital alive. He still considered Covid-19 as an ‘ordinary sickness.’
“Dumating na sa point na talagang hirap na hirap na akong huminga. Pero nagpa-ospital kami and I don’t know, hindi ko nare-relay yung thought na mawawala na ako, na mategi or mamatay, wala.
“Basta ang sabi ko ‘maybe it’s just another sickness.’ Kumbaga sickness lang na tumama. Dadalhin ka sa ospital, lalabas ka rin kapag magaling ka na.”
But when he was admitted to the ICU after contracting Covid-19, Vic Sotto and his co-hosts in the Kapuso noontime show Eat Bulaga! believed that he would not be able to make it through.
“Kasi nga kinekwento ni bossing, si Vic Sotto, na pagdating na pagdating ko sa ospital, tumawag ang doktor sa kanya para sabihin, ‘he doesn’t look good.’
“Nung nakalabas na ako at nag-Bawal Judgmental, saka ko lang nalaman at saka lang sinabi ni bossing.
“Yun pala, lahat ng mga tao, mga family ko, pati mga tao dito sa bahay na kasama ko, nag-iiyakan na. Parang feeling nila hindi na ako makakabalik.
“Hindi nila ine-expect na makakabalik ako,” he revealed.
Contrary to what they expected, and true to what he expected to happen, Allan K overcame Covid-19 and was among the survivors. While they thought he was incurable, the comedian never lost his trust in the Lord, believing he could win the battle against the coronavirus.
“Pero ako talaga, wala talaga. Alam ko gagaling ako. Faith in God, yun lang ‘yon.”
Moreover, he believed in the Bible verse Exodus 15:26 that says, “I am the God, that healeth thee.”
He considered the doctors and the medicines to be God’s instrument in healing him, but his recovery would be because of the Lord.
“So sa isip ko, itong mga doktor na ‘to, mga gamot na ‘to, ano lang ito eh, parang channel lang ito ni Lord para gamutin ako, para pakalmahin itong virus na ito.
“Pero the main healer talaga will be the Lord, gano’n. So alam ko talaga na lalabas akong ayos. True enough, ayos, parang walang nangyari.”
