The Pinoy Pop Band SB19 shared their experience taking on a different music genre in performing their songs with an orchestra.
During their media conference for their upcoming benefit concert Forte on October 7, SB19 recalled their preparations with the Battig Chamber Orchestra and the SSC Chamber Choir.
“Syempre po it’s hard for us, kasi it’s going to be the first time to perform na magkakaroon ng orchestra. Madali siya pakinggan in a sense na syempre nandoon ‘yung guide–may guide siya.
“Pero, noong rehearsals namin parang nangangapa-ngapa pa kami, especially ako kasi syempre kailangan ko talaga praktisin ng maigi. So lahat kami, sa rehearsals nae-enjoy namin so feeling ko, regarding sa preparations is na-e-enjoy and nararamdaman mo ‘yung music,” said SB19 Justin.
SB19 Justin also said that it’s a ‘good experience’ for their group to perform their Pop singles in an orchestra.
“Pero maganda din na hindi ka laging nandoon sa Pop. So it’s a good experience for us na na-experience namin ‘yung orchestra.”
SB19 Stell added that it’s good for their group to try something new with their music.
“Wala naman pong masama kung gagawa kami ng ibang genre for our next song. And ma-eexcite pa nga po kami to try something new for our group. I think it’s one of our goal din naman to try something na hindi pa naiihain ng SB19.”
SB19 Pablo noted the difference between performing in orchestra versus their usual minus one track.
“It’s our first time performing with an orchestra, and ibang-iba ‘yung feeling na kumakanta ka with an orchestra compared to singing with an M1 (Minus 1). Siguro po ‘yung feeling na nagbubuo sa isang movie na pag may singing, may score ‘yung dating. Na parang ‘yung feeling mo talaga, mararamdaman mo mismo kung ano ‘yung sinasabi ng kanta, pati ‘yung flow ng music.”
SB19 will join forces with 4th Impact in the pop orchestra concert titled Forte on October 17.
Joining them are Nicole Pugeda and Isaac Iglesias, the Battig Chamber Orchestra, and SSC Chamber Choir.
Sr. Baptista Battig Music Foundation will be hosting the event. As for the tickets, they’re available through KTX.PH and fortetheconcert.com.
