The latest episode of the longest-running drama anthology in the country sheds light upon dreams and how those who have, strive hard to achieve them. Such is the case of PBB Connect ex-housemate, Ralph Malibunas, who went by the moniker, Na-Nice Boy ng France. Like he told on PBB, Malibunas dreamed to enter showbusiness. He is now practically a step closer to fulfilling it, as his PBB stint opened doors for him to become a Kapamilya star.
Up-and-coming He’s Into Her star, Jeremiah Lisbo, breathed into life the character of Ralph in an inspiring story, which showcased his determination to realize his showbiz dreams and his wish to redeem himself for his family. His dramatic potential is well-exposed in this episode, which also marked his first starring role on the 30-year-old show.
Following his appearance in recent projects, like the film Four Sisters Before the Wedding and the iWantTFC series, He’s Into Her, he has been earning nods from the fans and ABS-CBN’s big bosses, as reflected by his recent projects. His dramatic flair is exceptionally showcased here, and his impressive acting chops are on full display.
What is more amazing about Lisbo–he was able to mimic Malibunas’s verve and humor, which made the PBB Connect housemate a fan favorite, last year. Lisbo flexed some comic appeal, which added extra charm to Ralph’s inherently heartwarming traits.
At the core of Ralph Malibunas’ MMK story is the power of dreams. It provided a very convincing illustration of how people who have dreams, exert their best efforts to achieve those dreams. Ralph, who made several attempts to enter the PBB house, feels like a perfect illustration of that inherent human behavior, and Lisbo is a perfect medium to make Ralph’s vision transpire on the small screen.
Lotlot de Leon, who played as Ralph’s mother, has some of the most moving moments in the episode, as her struggles and dreams as a mother, provided enough motivation for Ralph to push forward. Lisbo, however, pulled off an incredibly powerful moment, which proved not only his dramatic potential but his developing versatility. A few more roles—and workshops—will most likely polish him into a better actor.
