Neil Arce repeats what her wife Angel Locsin said previously; the latter will not be running for the senatorial post in the upcoming 2022 national elections.
Via Instagram Stories, Arce reiterates that her wife does not have plans to run for public office positions.
“To those who accused my wife of wanting to run this election just because she extended help to people in need, well.. she’s sitting here in front of me watching TV while corrupt politicians are filing their COCs. What do you have to say for yourselves now?” he captioned.
Rumors of Angel Locsin’s filing a certificate of candidacy have spread when Ogie Diaz discussed in his YouTube vlog that Locsin has a big heart in helping her countrymen in dire needs, including her colleagues in the entertainment industry.
But Locsin confirmed that she is not running for public office in the upcoming 2022 national elections.
“Maglalagay tayo ng senador na karapat-dapat, hindi ako,” Locsin shared on a text message she sent to Diaz, her talent manager.
In April 2021, Locsin stated that she considers artists as public servants, considering that what they are doing is not for their selfish gains but for their aspiration to bring entertainment to people.
“Public servant naman po kami bilang mga artista, e. I think ‘yung buhay naman namin is very public. Lahat naman ‘to ginagawa namin, hindi lang para sa sarili namin, kung ‘di gusto namin magbigay ng entertainment sa mga tao. Pero, politics? Hindi talaga. Sobrang hindi. Wala sa utak ko ‘yun,”
Locsin strongly left a remark that she has no plans to involve herself in politics.
