On October 15, an emotional Manila Mayor Isko Moreno faced the public as he said he felt hurt over the ‘Porn Star’ remark from a foreign news outlet.

During his speech at a convention in Batangas City, Moreno was on the verge of tears when he cried foul over the remark.

“Hindi niyo malalamon mga masasakit na sinabi sa akin. Kahapon lang tinawag akong porno star.”

He also called out the “moralista” and “disente” people who keep criticizing him.

“Para bang pag mahirap ka, wala ka nang karapatan umangat. Dahil hindi ka katanggap-tanggap sa kanila na mga moralista, mga disente. Disente kuno.”

Netizens went on social media to react to Moreno’s emotional speech.

Some compared his emotional outbursts to Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s during his speeches.

Journalist Raissa Robles questioned if Moreno should still be affected by similar remarks with his 20 years in politics.

Yes. But surely, @IskoMoreno should be inured or toughened to such attacks by now after 2 decades in politics. https://t.co/4LiDo8Cgd7

Other’s expressed disappointment over his outburst, with some noting that he didn’t respond similarly with Pres. Duterte’s “call boy” remark.

@iskomoreno Bakit hindi ka naging emotional noong si duterte ang tumawag sa ‘yo ng ganyan? Bakit ngayon lng? Dahil ba malapit na eleksyon?

Im confused whether Isko is running for president or auditioning for PBB? Too much drama eh. https://t.co/0SGS1eYApa

In August 2021, Duterte took a swipe at an unnamed politician’s training in governance, comparing it to a ‘call boy.’ The president also highlighted the government official’s past sexy photos. Many believe the president was referring to the Manila Mayor. However, Moreno responded by showing off his awards as Mayor.
