Korina Sanchez took to Instagram on Tuesday, October 26, to express her sadness as Noli de Castro backed out from the 2022 senatorial race.
The broadcast journalist also mentioned that De Castro is dearly missed in ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol and she then remembered their memorable days.
Sanchez wrote, “I feel sad my friend Kabayan Noli de Castro backed out of the Senate race. His voice is also missed in TVPatrol. Though the women are doing a great job no. I always remember Kabayan towards Halloween.
“One Halloween Special we collaborated on an episode. Memorable. Kabayan, saan ka man naron, si Noli ka pa din.”

Sanchez started working for TV Patrol in 1995 replacing Mel Tiangco who transferred to GMA Network.
But it was in 2010 that the trio of De Castro, Sanchez, and Ted Failon took the helm of the Kapamilya flagship newscast.
The trio worked together for five years until 2015 when Korina resigned from the program to support the presidential bid of her husband, the former Sen. Mar Roxas.
Sanchez is currently staying with TV5. Recently, a rumor surfaced that De Castro is transferring to TV5’s newscast, Frontline Pilipinas.
On Thursday, October 7, De Castro informed the public that he is leaving his home network, ABS-CBN, to join politics and become a member of Aksyon, with presidential aspirant and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno’s party.
However, De Castro announced on Wednesday, October 13 that he backed out of the 2022 senatorial race to continue his career in broadcasting.
“Nais kong iparating sa lahat ng aking mga kaibigan at supporters na naghahanda na sanang tumulong sa akin, na nagpasiya akong hindi na ituloy ang aking kandidatura,” De Castro wrote in his letter to his party, Aksyon Demokratiko.
