On October 15, Kapuso artist Jennica Garcia admitted that she always wanted a Kontrabida role.
During the media conference for the Las Hermanas, Garcia recalled asking GMA Network for a Kontrabida role before her showbiz hiatus.
Hindi ko alam, I was really hoping to get one before when I was actively doing work for GMA [Network] but for some reason, kahit sabihin namin, parang hindi ganong roles ‘yung nabibigay po.”
She also detailed the struggles she faced in portraying an antagonist character in her comeback teleserye.
“So ito, masayang-masaya ako na tanggapin siya. But I have to be honest na nahirapan po ako talaga.
At the same time, ‘yung role po kasi ni Brenda, is very different from my real personality.”
Garcia added that her character was far from her personality in real life.
“Syempre, when we do a new character, we want to offer something new.
“If you have that attitude towards others, if you have that personality, kasi minsan di ba?
Garcia took on an eight-year hiatus from showbiz to take care of her child and her husband, Alwyn Uytingco.
Now, Garcia returns to showbiz, joining lead stars Yasmien Kurdi, Thea Tolentino, Faith Da Silva, and Albert Martinez in the newest drama offering from GMA Network, Las Hermanas.
The series also includes a powerhouse cast with Jason Abalos, Rita Avila, Leandro Baldemor, Lucho Ayala, Madeline Nicolas, Rubi Rubi, Melissa Mendez, Robert Ortega, Orlando Sol, and Coleen Paz.
Las Hermanas premieres on October 25, on GMA Network, after 24 Oras.
