“Yun actually na-realize ko yung eksena na ‘yon, sabi ko, ‘naku, ito yung sisira sa career ko.'”
This is what actor JC Santos said on Wednesday, October 20, after asking what the most challenging scene he did for his latest Viva movie More Than Blue.
The particular scene that the actor struggled made it into the film’s trailer. It was when K (Santos) walked out of the wedding of Cream (Yassi Pressman).
“Meron ako na isa—actually lumabas na s’ya sa trailer ‘di ba? Yung kasal ‘di ba tumalikod na si K tapos maglalakad na s’ya pabalik,” he laughingly shared during the film’s virtual media conference.
According to Santos, he had a hard time doing such a simple scene that it took him a number of times until he could execute it perfectly.
“Kasi hindi ko s’ya magawa. It took me a lot of takes para makuha ko lang yung simpleng-simpleng (scene na) ‘yon,” said Santos.
Apparently, the simplest gestures and expressions could be one of the hardest things to do in acting.
“At yun ang pinakamahihirap sa acting eh… p’wede ka namang umiyak na bigay na bigay, p’wede kang tumawang bigay na bigay, pero yung pipigilan mo lagi, tapos mag-stay ka lang do’n for a good amount of time, yun yung pinakamahirap eh. So ito na yung parang, ‘ah okay, nahirapan na ako,'” he noted.
Because of such embarrassing moment, Santos, who had been an actor for five years now, said, “ito na yung pinakamahirap, na parang, ‘ito na yata, ito na eh, wala na hindi na ako makakabalik sa ganito, nakakahiya na.'”
More Than Blue is a South Korean adaptation of the 2009 movie with a similar title. The local version is directed by Nuel Naval that stars Santos and Pressman along with Diego Loyzaga and Ariella Arida.
The movie will be available for streaming on Vivamax starting November 19.
