Kapuso star Alden Richards and Sylvia Sanchez bagged the top acting honors in the recently concluded virtual presentation of the 36th edition of the Star Awards for Movies. The film Hello, Love, Goodbye was also announced as the ‘Movie of the Year.’
In the virtual event held on Sunday, September 26, Richards was awarded for his role in the blockbuster movie “Hello, Love, Goodbye” while Sanchez for her role in “Jesusa“.
Richards bagged the ‘Movie Actor of the Year’ award, while Sanchez bagged the ‘Movie Actress of the Year’ award.
Richards competed against Aga Muhlach, Carlo Aquino, Raymond Bagatsing, and Elijah Canlas, among others, for the said award.
While Sanchez competed against Bea Alonzo, Janine Gutierrez, Judy Ann Santos and veteran actress Angie Ferro.
On the other hand, Alden Richards was also awarded ‘Movie Loveteam of the Year’ along with Kathryn Bernardo for their blockbuster film “Hello, Love, Goodbye”.
The 2019 film “Hello, Love, Goodbye” was announced as the ‘Movie of the Year.’ The film went against Quezon’s Game, LSS, The Panti Sisters, Maria, and Write About Love.
The 36th PMPC Star Awards edition was led by 2021 PMPC president Roldan Castro and 2020 PMPC president Sandy Es Mariano and the officers and members of the Philippine Movie Press Club.
