On October 13, Miss Universe Philippines 2020 second runner-up Michele Gumabao may have answered the criticisms about her alliance with Mocha Uson through an Instagram post.
Gumabao posted a photo with her mom and wrote a caption addressing the reactions to her joining in the party-list Mothers for Change with Uson.
“Why? the answer is very simple. My mom taught me how to love like Jesus.
“even if it hurts, even when people don’t understand, even when it seems crazy.
“My mom didn’t just tell my siblings and I how to love no matter who, to forgive no matter what and to be compassionate no matter what the cost, she lived it and showed us every day.”
She wrote that her mom taught her to “love like Jesus” and to “forgive no matter what and to be compassionate no matter what the cost.”
She also wrote that her mom taught her to see the good in every person and every situation.
“She taught me to always see the good in every person and in every situation.”
She finished her post implying that she wants to start making a change with her shift into politics.
“We can’t just hope, post, tweet or wait for change to happen, we have to work for it and it should start right now. This pandemic showed all of us that life is finite and tomorrow might not come, do what you can today.”

Earlier, Gumabao came under scrutiny after joining the party-list Mother’s For Change (Mocha) with the known disinformation peddler, Uson. Some found it ironic that the Beauty Queen advocating against fake news in 2018 joined a personality who promotes disinformation.
