Award-winning actor Arjo Atayde admitted that he already plans to settle down with his long-time girlfriend, Maine Mendoza.
The two have been in a relationship for about 3 years now.
In a YouTube interview with Julius Babao, Atayde said that settling down is not a problem with him since he is already at the right age.
“Obviously, I’m not wasting time. At the same time, I love the person very much, the person is very sincere.
“Yes, of course, we are talking about that. I’m at the right age, we’re not getting any younger and we’re both very happy, hopefully until we get old. This is it, I think so,” said Atayde.
When asked if Mendoza is “the one” for him, Atayde immediately agreed.
“It’s very hard to explain how a person could be unique the way you see them. To me, she’s very loving person. He has a good heart and that’s also hard to find. Sincerity, loyal person. It’s hard to love.
“I’m overwhelmed with the way I love her and she loves me back. It’s a different understanding…I think I found a best friend, partner, nakakausap ko [with] no hindrance being myself,” he shared.
Sylvia Sanchez, Atayde’s mother, also participated in the interview where she implicitly said that she already wanted to have grandchildren.
“I was really laughing. Yes I want to have grandchildren. He is the eldest. He is the old man. So I have a lot of dogs because I don’t have a baby, if it’s possible, I’ll give birth, I’ll give birth again,” she quipped.
Sanchez also gave a seal of approval in case her son gets married.
“I’m just waiting. When?” she said.
Dating rumors between Atayde and Mendoza started in 2018. Mendoza only confirmed the dating rumors via her blog entry on March 2, 2020, which is a day before her birthday, saying, “It’s true, I am dating Arjo.”
Atayde recently filed his candidacy as Congressman of the First District of Quezon City.
