Andrea Brillantes is recovering after being positive for COVID-19 and explained her earlier remark, where she admitted it hurts her seeing a new artist become instantly famous.
In the recent interview with Boy Abunda, Brillantes addressed her earlier statement of her feeling envious of the newcomers in showbiz who are already experiencing instant fame. She indicated the people misunderstood her.
“Ang naramdaman ko po is shock and super confused. Kasi po sa Gold Squad, tinanong ako kung ano yung mga ibang experiences as an artist na hindi ko nagugustuhan and then I answered yung nararanasan ko when I was 13. Lahat ng tao hindi alam yun kasi nagco-comment sila, akala nila yun yung mindset ko ngayon, but no.”
Brillantes explained that the statement she made was her mindset when she was still a teenage artist, clarifying that it was her previous experiences that she did not like.
“Hindi ko binasa yung comments, ang alam ko lang yun sinabi sakin ni mommy na marami raw nagsasabing inggitera ako, na immature ako, na selfish ako, na hindi ko rin maintindihan kasi first of all, wala akong sinabing na hindi nila ‘to deserve. I didn’t invalidate their success, their talent, their craft, all I said is masakit siya para sakin.”
She admitted she did not anymore pay attention to the negative comments and criticisms she received from the controversial comment.
In September 2021, Brillantes made a scandalous remark when she has expressed her dismay upon seeing newbies overtake her on showbiz opportunities, saying that she feels she is being outshined when a new name pops out and immediately wins the hearts of thousands of supporters.
