The fact that ‘KathNiel’ will star in the series, fans will get excited about it, but there are still some reasons to look forward to.
It’s Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla’s comeback series.
The phenomenal box-office pair and television mammoths are putting their nearly four-year hiatus from doing primetime TV series via 2 Good 2 Be True.
Bernardo and Padilla last worked together in a TV series back in 2108, when they did La Luna Sangre, the last installment of the Moonstone Trilogy, which also consisted of Lobo (2008) and Imortal (2011).
It’s KathNiel’s reunion film with Star Cinema director, Mae Cruz-Alviar.
Cruz-Alvia has served as the director of a number of KathNiel’s movies and TV series in the past. The box-office director previously helmed two of the couple’s box-office grossing films, Crazy Beautiful You (2015) and Can’t Help Falling in Love (2017), which both grossed more than PhP300 million at the box office.
She was also one of the directors of the top-rated TV series, Pangako Sa ’Yo (2015) and La Luna Sangre (2017).
The series will be produced by RGE Drama Unit.
RGE Drama produced some of ABS-CBN’s most remarkable dramas, which somewhat suggests that KathNiel’s comeback project is definitely in good hands. The Kapamilya production unit previously produced Pasion de Amor (2015), Be My Lady (2016), Tubig at Langis (2016), and Nang Ngumiti ang Langit (2019).
The series is most likely to feature medical/hospital themes.
Based on the initial photoshoot–it seems that Bernardo’s character is a nurse, which somehow gives fans a hint of what the series will be about. If the fans’ suspicions are correct, this series could be a medical drama set largely in a hospital.
That remains a theory for now, but the possibility is really exciting.
The cast will have some of the local entertainment industry’s most seasoned stars.
A series won’t be complete without the legendary names in the industry. In 2 Good 2 Be True’s case, you can’t say they just randomly picked anyone to be part of the series. Veteran stars like Ronaldo Valdez, Gloria Diaz, and Irma Adlawan are part of the show.
Seasoned stars from the ‘80s and the ‘90s like Gelli de Belen, Romnick Sarmienta, Smokey Manoloto, and Cris Villanueva are also in the cast.
Some of our young up-and-coming stars are also part of the series.
Not only this KathNiel-led series will feature our biggest senior stars–it will also star some of the fast-rising young stars today, including Yves Flores, Alyssa Mulach, Gillian Vicencio, and Kristel Fulgar.
The main plot of the series is yet to be revealed.
What’s exciting about this upcoming series is that fans still have no idea what this is exactly going to be about. While theories have been formed based on KathNiel’s photoshoot, there really are no other meaty details that fans can draw more solid conclusions from.
That makes the guessing game even more exciting as this may delightfully surprise fans once RGE decided to reveal the show’s main storyline.
This marks the 5th time Kathryn and Daniel are starring together in a primetime TV series.
It’s hard to dispute KathNiel’s royalty status, given that they’ve headlined some of their home Network’s biggest projects through the years. As far as primetime TV dramas are concerned, 2 Good 2 Be True is 5th on KathNiel’s list.
The two first worked together on a Primetime Bida series in 2012, via Princess and I, which was subsequently followed by Got to Believe (2013), Pangako Sa ’Yo in 2015, and La Luna Sanggre in 2017.
This will be KathNiel’s first teleserye in the time of pandemic.
KathNiel’s comeback teleserye has been stalled a few times already, and it’s 2 Good 2 Be True that finally cut that seemingly stroke of bad luck. With its first cycle lock-in tapings already set to begin next month, KathNiel is similarly geared up to pull off their first teleserye shot during the pandemic.
2 Good 2 Be True will be a banner Kapamilya teleserye in 2022.
Kathnie’s return to primetime will no doubt be among the biggest television events, next year. There are a number of big Kapamilya shows that are slated for 2022 release, but one can’t deny that excitement for 2 Good 2 Be True, is far bigger than most of the other shows.
