First Yaya star Sanya Lopez remains unsure whether the hit Kapuso series would get a Book 2 or not, said on September 7.
“Hindi pa rin ako nagsasalita hangga’t ‘di pa ako sure. So, kapag sure na, mas mabilis magsabi. May paniniwala kasi ako na kapag hindi pa s’ya umeere, at hindi ko pa napapanuod ang sarili ko, hindi po talaga ako nagsasalita regarding sa project na gagawin ko,” the actress shared at the virtual press conference for Regal Studio Presents.
Though she remains ‘clueless’ if her show will have a second season, Lopez is pretty much excited if GMA Network decides to extend the popular Kapuso show.
“Yes! Kung nagkataon! Kasi andami-daming possible na mangyayari.”
Lopez teased the show’s fans by letting their imagination run wild with season 2’s possible storyline, following her character, Yaya Melody’s marriage with the Philippine President played by Gabby Concepcion.
“Imaginin n’yo na nung First Yaya palang s’ya, andami nang nangyari kay Yaya Melody. Ano pa kaya kung naging asawa na s’ya ng presidente? So sobrang saya.”
If ever it becomes a reality, she hoped that season 2 would be more light-hearted given the pandemic.
“Sabi nga namin, ‘pag nagkataon yun, sana mas masaya pa. Kasi I think isa sa mga naging—kung bakit kinagat itong First Yaya ay dahil sa dami-dami nating pinag-dadaanan ngayon, andami nating hindi magandang napapakinggan o nababalitaan, isa ang First Yaya sa nagbigay ng saya, na kahit papaano ay nakapawi ng lungkot sa mga nangyayari sa buhay,” she hoped.
During First Yaya‘s airing was among the most-watched programs in the Philippines, finishing strong on July 2.
However, the show’s success gave her some doubts if she could duplicate the achievement of the first season.
In the meantime, catch Lopez on Saturday, September 11, 8:30 p.m., as she and Ken Chan start Regal Studio Presents with their episode That Thin Line Between.
