On September 14, musician Rico Blanco admits he’s open to becoming a Pinoy Big Brother celebrity housemate.
During the media conference for Pinoy Tayo, Blanco said he would agree to become a PBB housemate, but he needs to let the artists he manages know.
“Yeah, why not! Kailangan lang magpaalam lang ako sa mga artist na minamanage ko. Magpaalam lang ako ng maayos.
“Ayon lang, may mga artist tayo na minamanage pero let’s say wala ‘yun, I’d say that’d be really interesting.”
He added that if he becomes a housemate, he will give them a free concert every day.
“There going to get a free concert everyday. In fact, they might kick me out. They might want to kick me out kasi, ‘Ang ingay naman niyan. Bakit ba tugtog ng tugtog ‘yan at kanta ng kanta. I-evict na nga natin ‘yan.'”
Blanco performed Pinoy Tayo in ‘ASAP Natin ‘To’ on Sunday signaling the start of the 10th Season of Pinoy Big Brother.
ABS-CBN Music Creative Director Jonathan Manalo said that the reinterpretation of Pinoy Tayo was perfect timing for PBB’s 10th season.
“Blessing na rin, noong nabanggit ko na, ay pwede Season 10 pala ng PBB. Talagang coincidence lang lahat.
“So noong may season 10 ng PBB, sabi ko, perfect timing. Pwedeng ma-launch ‘yung song with PBB. Kasi alam naman natin na ‘yung song nagsimula sa PBB. What a coincidence na I’m celebrating my 20 years and PBB’s 10th anniversary and ready na kami ni sir Rico with this new version of Pinoy Ako which is Pinoy Tayo.”
Pinoy Tayo is also the first of 25 songs for Manalo’s 20th Anniversary Album, which he plans to release in 2022. He also confirmed that he plans to release the other 24 songs incrementally in the next coming months. They officially released Pinoy Tayo on September 5, and it is currently available on streaming platforms.
