LJ Reyes confirmed that she and her partner of six years, Paolo Contis got separated. According to the Kapuso actress, the process is [extremely] difficult and painful for her and her family.
In her latest interview with Boy Abunda, Reyes on YouTube was deeply emotional when she shared her side of the story.
“Are you confirming na hiwalay na kayo ni Paolo?” Abunda inquired.
“Yes, Tito Boy,” Reyes was in tears when she answered Abunda.
“How difficult was that ‘yung paghihiwala n’yo? What is your side of the story pagdating sa hiwalayan na ito? Then ito ‘yung mga narinig namin: that it was a mutual decision between you two and there was no third party. You outgrew each other. ‘Yun ang alam namin, ” Abunda interrogated.
“Tito Boy, it was so difficult. It was so painful. Siguro kung hindi malakas ‘yung pananampalataya ko sa Panginoon, hindi ko alam kung saan ako pupulutin. Kung hindi matibay ‘yung pagmamahal ko sa mga anak ko para maging motivation siya sa akin to stand up and wake up every day, hindi ko alam kung saan ako pupulutin.
“Kung ano man ‘yung third party na sinasabi, it’s actually the least of my concerns. Kasi kapag ang anak n’yo na po ang nagagawan ng mali…somehow kailangan ko nang ilayo ang mga bata kasi kailangan kong maprotektahan sila,” Reyes was already shedding a pool of tears relating her side.
She pointed that the reason for her to speak up was for the safety of her children. It compelled her to leave with her children and flew to the US, in New York. She felt that she had to [physically] take out the kids from the situation.
Reyes has been in a relationship with Contis for six years. She and Contis have a two-year-old daughter.
Speculations spread that Reyes and Contis broke when netizens noticed that the latter unfollowed the former on Instagram. He also has deleted Reyes’s photos on his Instagram account.
