Kapamilyas are hoping for the best for Kim Atienza’s new journey in GMA Network after leaving ABS-CBN.
His network transfer rumors were confirmed after GMA Network shared a blurred photo of him on their social media page on Wednesday, September 29.
Although some expressed their disappointment over his network transfer, the TV personality also gained support from his fans.
A certain Twitter user with the handle @JD_Drocker said fans should be happy about his decision.
He wrote: “Kuya Kim did a great job sa ABS. Let’s be happy na lang kay Kuya Kim. Wala naman masamang tinapay kay Kuya Kim. We will Miss Kuya Kim sa ABS… Ingat na lang lagi, Kuya @kuyakim_atienza and just be happy sa bago mong tatahakin. Lalo mo pang galingan. You will always be a KAPAMILYA.”
Atienza then thanked the netizen for his message.
“Salamat JD,” he said.

Another netizen named Kevin Manalo tackled that ABS-CBN should train more journalists for educational shows to fill in Atienza’s place.
The netizen shared, “I hope, that with Kuya Kim’s departure from ABS, the company will train more journalists focused in the education and science beats. Can we quickly think of anybody who can/will replace him? Matanglawin was a special program, perhaps the only educational tv show in free tv.”

Atienza, popularly known as Kuya Kim, has been under ABS-CBN for over 16 years. He is famous for hosting the educational show Matanglawin and delivering weather news reports and trivia in TV Patrol.
During ABS-CBN’s fight for a franchise renewal, Atienza was among those Kapamilyas who showed their full support for the network.
The news anchor might have decided to leave his home network searching for bigger opportunities or because of certain circumstances.
It was reported that he has two upcoming shows on GMA Network.
