In an interview with RAWR Nation, Janine Berdin was asked about her ‘baptism of fire’ since she’s has experienced joining a lot of competitions back then.
Before trying showbusiness, when she was still a kid, she knew all along that she’s destined to be a singer.
Berdin said that she loved to sing and let people watch her perform.
She told News ‘To, News Ko Yan, a story where her Mom sang via a karaoke the theme song of the 1988 film, Titanic–My Heart Will Go On. She wanted to sing also, but at that time she didn’t know how to read yet; her Mom taught her the lyrics instead. That’s how she learned to sing the Celine Dion song.
Another story, she shared on Magandang Buhay was about discouraging her to sing. She was involved in a youth organization in the province, and someone told her that her voice was not that good because it sounds so husky and harsh. In short, not pleasant to listen to.
It came to a point where she thought of not pursuing or putting a halt to her singing. However, her love for music prevailed. She had many people who believed in her, and that support system became a motivating factor for her to continue to do what she loves doing the most.
After all the ordeals, she even has a piece of advice for aspiring artists.
“Find yourself, and if you really love what you’re doing and if you know you’re good at it, don’t listen to other people who’d say otherwise.
“Pursue it because you deserve to be happy in life.
The rest is history until she joined showbiz starting as a member of Star Circle kids in 2011 then her stint on TNT winning the title in 2018.
