24-year-old Kapuso actress Gabbi Garcia who just renewed her contract with GMA Network on Thursday, September 23, dreams of having a Girls’ Love (GL) series with First Yaya star Sanya Lopez.
“For future dream roles, I really want to do a GL series. I want to challenge myself [and] at the same time kasi I’m an ally. I want to do that,” she admitted during her post-media conference.
As a supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community, Garcia perceives that playing a GL role would send a good message to Filipinos.
Her ideal co-actress was Lopez, who she had worked with before in the iconic Kapuso fantaserye Encantadia.
“Sabi ko nga, it’s really fun to work with Sanya when it comes to GL. Because Sanya and I are close and we worked together na. So I feel like there’s going to be a good dynamic there.”
When it comes to restrictions, Garcia said it is best to be left for GMA Artist Center to decide, though she is open to doing kissing scenes with another girl.
“Tignan natin kung game din si Artist Center. Kung game din sila, why not. Tsaka I’ve always been an ally and a proud supporter so okay naman po ako.”
As for the challenge, she said that she aims to become a better actress to go international soon.
“I want to challenge myself also to be a better actress and maybe soon you know, do a film, that would go international.
“It’s a continuous learning kasi eh and I wanna challenge myself to learn every day, every year.”
Aside from GL roles, Garcia is also dreaming to be an action star.
Regarding doing daring roles, Garcia said she is reserving it for the time when she grows older.
“Siguro as of now, I’m still stretching my opportunities.
“Siguro I’m trying to reserve that part when I grow older pa para meron pa tayong bala when I get older.
“Siguro more mature roles but daring roles siguro I would reserve that for the future years pa,” she said.
In the meantime, she is set to star in the GMA Public Affairs’ mystery-primetime series Love You Stranger alongside boyfriend Khalil Ramos and a regular performer in All-Out Sundays.
