Fans of ABS-CBN’s “Everybody, Sing!” went to social media to share their reactions after watching the community singing game show hosted by Vice Ganda in its original and pre-pandemic format.
In the first two episodes of the program’s “100 Songbayanan Special” that aired last weekend (September 25 and 26), a hundred haircutters played through ten games and went for the P2 million jackpot prize. They managed to guess three out of ten song titles correctly in the jackpot round, taking home P300,000 to share among themselves after their game, which was taped before the pandemic began last year.
Aside from the huge number of players and the bigger cash prize, netizens could not help but notice how Vice and the players were able to interact more without the restrictions that the show has been implementing to ensure everyone’s well-being during this pandemic.
Netizen @krsjynn said on Twitter, “Watching @everybodysingph tonight & I must say na talagang nakakamiss ung life pre-pandemic. Panahong hindi pa uso ung face mask, face shield, barriers, social distancing then ung mga shows is may audience pa tapos may interaction pa bet. Hosts & guests.”
YouTube user Nahum Pulmones, who watched the September 25 episode via Kapamilya Online Live, also raved about the production value of the show in the comment section.
“I think this is one of the best episodes in the history of the show, with lots of contestants, back-up dancers, everything. And it’s better if the pandemic could have not happened. Kudos to the producers,” he said.
Another viewer on YouTube named Ara Bela, meanwhile, shared her wish for the program.
“Ang saya mas malaki ang papremyo kung di lng nagka covid at di nawala prangkisa ng ABS-CBN sana maging maayos na ang lahat para mas masaya ang lahat,” she said.
This coming weekend, it is the turn of 100 palengke vendors to sing and bond with Vice Ganda all the way to the P2 million jackpot round. Watch the two-part special that was shot before the pandemic on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, Kapamilya Online Live, iWantTFC, and TFC at 7 pm this Saturday (October 2) and 7:30 pm on Sunday (October 3).
“Everybody, Sing,” which will have its season finale soon, was supposed to debut in March 2020 but was put on hold due to restrictions implemented to prevent the spread of COVID-19. It finally aired last June 5 this year but featured only 25 instead of 100 players, five instead of ten games, and P500,000 prize in the jackpot round.
So far, six songbayanans have won the jackpot prize in the “greatest community singing game show” in the country: the community pantry volunteers, massage therapists, teachers, PUV drivers, call center agents, and factory workers.
Find out if the songbayanan of palengke vendors will take home the P2 million jackpot prize in the continuation of the “100 Songbayanan Special” of “Everybody, Sing!” this weekend.
