Kapamilya actress and philanthropist Angel Locsin agrees with Vice President Leni Robredo’s statement on the budget allocation for the COVID-19 response.
On September 6, Robredo said that she would have allocated more budget on COVID-19 response and benefits of health workers if she has the authority to lead the country’s pandemic response.
Robredo also expressed disappointment to President Rodrigo Duterte for insinuating talks against the senators and the Commission on Audit (COA) on his last two press conferences.
The Vice President also pointed out how the government slashed the Department of Health’s proposed budget for the pandemic response from P73.9 billion to P19.6 billion.
She also suggested that other agencies should allot their excess budget to the country’s COVID-19 response since we are not in an ‘ordinary time.’
“Hindi ito ordinary times. Sa ‘kin lang, bakit wala akong nakikitang sense na ganoon… Dapat pinapakiusapan ang mga department, alin muna sa budget n’yo ang puwede natin ma-convert ngayon?” Robredo said.
“Kung nagagawa namin na yung kakarampot namin na budget na nai-stretch namin and nako-convert namin na maging COVID budget, imposible naman na ‘yung iba hindi ‘yan kayang gawin,” she raised the question.
Angel Locsin posted the said statement from Robredo on her Instagram story.
The actress recently tied the knot with Neil Arce after getting engaged for more than two years.
