On September 6, ABS-CBN executive Linggit Tan-Marasigan reacted to the success of Hoy Love You during the media conference for the second season of the said sitcom.
Linggit thanked ABS-CBN and the Kapamilya audience for the success of the show.
“Gusto ko talaga magpasalamat sa lahat. Ang sabi sa akin ng ABS nila Direk Lauren, Direk Ralph ang head ng programming, okay naman ang ratings ng Hoy Love You sa Kapamilya Channel sa A2Z at sa KOL.
“So thank you very much sa ating mga viewers, abroad at dito. Maraming maraming salamat talaga at dahil maganda nga ang performance ng season 1 at pinag-pray talaga namin ng husto para magkaroon ng season 2.”
She revealed the goal of the Hoy Love You cast and crew is to make the Filipino viewers happy.
“Ang gusto lang naman talaga ng show, ng mga artista, ng cast, lahat ng bumubuo ng Hoy Love You is to make people happy. Especially this time na medyo marami tayong problema, hirap, so kailangan talaga, laughter is the best medicine.”
As for its second season of the series, Linggit noted that Hoy Love You Two gave her the chance to create the sitcom she always wanted.
“Lahat ng gusto kong mangyari sa sitcom na narrative, na masaya ay nagawa namin sa Season 2.
“Pero ito talaga ito ‘yung talagang gustong-gusto ko gawin. Kasi kadalasan ‘yung sitcom para siyang fake, alam mo siyang studio. Frustration ko ‘yung maging mukhang totoo, real ang characters, real ang location. Ito na mix namin, may studio set kami dito. Lahat ng pinanood namin hindi nahalata na mayroon kaming studio set.”
She then confirmed her hopes of having a third season for the comedy show.
“Iba talaga kapag kilala niyo si Lord na tunay na panginoon niyo, at tagapag-provide kasi ibibigay niya talaga.
“Kasi talaga hiningi naming lahat na magkaroon ng season 2 and ito na ipapalabas na. So magpe-pray nanaman kami para magkaroon ng season 3.”
The sitcom stars Roxanne Guinoo-Yap and Joross Gamboa in their reunion project. Produced Linggit Tan-Marasigan and directed by Theodore Boborol, the comedy series, Hoy Love You, premieres its second season on September 11 via the iWant TFC app.
At the same time, its season one finale is currently airing on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z Channel 11, and Kapamilya Online Live.
