TV personality Yexel Sebastian was quick to delete his Facebook post looking for contractors after realizing it may lead to criticism, Monday, August 9.
In a now-deleted post, Sebastian was looking for a contractor who would build his ideal flooring and roofing but the “payment” was for him to promote him/her via collaboration, exchange deal, and video promotion.
The deleted Facebook post says: “Hello Good PM. Ask lang baka po meron kayo kilala Contractor or p’wede po makagawa nun nasa Picture Flooring and Roof. Baka po p’wede tayo Collab and Exdeal.
“Gawan po namin Video and Promote. Location Po Bulacan.”
When he realized it was a mistake to post something like that, he quickly deleted it and issued an apology.
In his statement, Sebastian explained that the meaning of an “exdeal” or exchange deal is a way of looking for a discount.
He then clarified that he is merely looking for ways to lessen his expenses.
But before he could delete the said post, Netizens already took screenshots and called him “buraot” or stingy.
Amid the pandemic where job opportunity is very hard to find, Netizens believed Sebastian’s action was not to pay for the job and just use his popularity to promote the contractor.
Among the comments in the post were:
“Kahit artista pa yan, no to unpaid gigs.”
“Kadiri hahaha. Papagawa tapos i-feature lang sa vid hahaha bayad bayad din uy hahaha.”
“Sana pwede din i-collab yung materials from hardware.”
This issue of Sebastian was similar to actor Jameson Blake in 2018.
The actor tweeted (now-deleted) looking for graphic artists who would make him a cover photo/banner for his YouTube and Twitch accounts. His chosen design would receive a shoutout from him.
This also received criticism from Netizens resulting in the actor apologizing for his tweet.
Sebastian is a Filipino television personality, director, producer, dancer, toy collector, and curator who owns the largest Optimus bust in Asia. He also owns four toy museums in the Philippines.
His younger brother was Jam, a famous YouTube content creator who passed away in 2015 due to lung cancer.
