On August 23, Kapuso actor Sid Lucero admitted that he is hoping to stay as a Kapuso during the media conference for The World Between Us season break.
Lucero said he felt at home with GMA Network and looking forward to remaining with the Network.
“Can I be honest? I don’t handle myself very well. And, I’m hoping now that I’m older, I can stay. I’m like a prodigal child, but I’m home.”
As for his current series, The World Between Us, showrunners announced that they are taking a season break because of the recent lockdowns during the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).
Lucero said he felt ‘bad’ for the fans, sharing his personal experience as an avid viewer himself.
“I felt really /bad when we were going to take a break. Because I have been there, I fell in love with a show that stopped after the third season then there was a petition. Then they all waited two years before the last episode came out, and they really dedicated themselves to the audience talaga, so I know what it’s like.”
He then revealed that he felt frustrated for the season break because it impacted his plans for his daughter’s birthday.
“Super frustrating because we’re not just professionals. We also have personal lives. And some of the things that we had to decide on our personal lives to help our professional lives.
“I already accepted the fact that I won’t get to see my daughter on her birthday. And given that situation, even though I went home, I wasn’t able to see her anyway because they had plans, and I wasn’t part of that, and I can’t just put myself in that.”
Lucero began his acting career with GMA Network in the series Hanggang Kailan in 2004. He then landed a lead role in ABS-CBN’s Krystala. He garnered acting awards for his role in Selda and Tambolista. He then transferred back to the GMA network in 2011.
Before its season break, The World Between Us topped in ratings as the number one teleserye in the Philippines.
The GMA Network teleserye starring Alden Richards, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, and Tom Rodriguez takes its season break on August 27 and returns on November 15.
